Terms of Service

1. Purpose

ProLocataires is an online service assisting tenants in their dealings with a landlord or property manager, in the canton of Geneva. ProLocataires is not a law firm and does not carry out representation activity before judicial authorities or the conciliation authority.

2. Description of services

ProLocataires offers two options:

• The document: drafting of a letter tailored to the client's situation, which the client sends themselves to their landlord or property manager.
• Full follow-up: drafting and sending of the letter on behalf of ProLocataires, with an elected domicile for correspondence, and follow-up until the landlord or property manager responds.

These services are limited to correspondence and amicable negotiation. They do not include representation before the conciliation authority or any court.

3. Quotes and pricing

After receiving the case via the online form, a legal professional reviews the situation and sends a detailed quote (summary of the situation, proposed strategy, price) before any payment. No service is billed without the client's prior approval.

4. Client obligations

The client agrees to provide accurate and complete information about their situation, as well as any useful documents (notably the lease agreement). ProLocataires cannot be held responsible for consequences resulting from incomplete or inaccurate information provided by the client.

5. No guarantee of outcome

ProLocataires uses the necessary means to best defend the client's interests, without guaranteeing a specific outcome. The result of a negotiation with a landlord or property manager depends on many factors beyond ProLocataires' control.

6. Liability

ProLocataires cannot be held responsible for indirect damages resulting from the use of the service. For any judicial proceedings or proceedings before the conciliation authority, the client is invited to consult a lawyer registered with a Swiss bar association.

7. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms of service are governed by Swiss law. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is Geneva.

8. Changes to these terms

ProLocataires reserves the right to modify these terms of service at any time. The version in force is the one published on this site at the time of use of the service.
